I was feeling so many things as I kissed Leigh that I would never admit out loud. Hell, I had trouble admitting them to myself.

One, she pierced my fucking soul like no one ever had. I didn’t even know someone could reach in so deep, to touch me on how I felt about my father, like she could. I would have expected such an encounter and a conversation to feel so awkward, so brutal, so tough, but it felt shockingly natural.

Two, the longer the conversation went on, the stronger my feelings for her became and the less my stress was. I’d brought her in only for release, something to take my mind off the bullshit of the club and the impending countdown in forty-eight hours, but over the course of her talking, I became much more focused on her presence, her words, her smile. I never would have guessed, even fifteen minutes ago, that shit was possible.

Three…well, I wasn’t willing to even admit three to myself. It described the intensity of my feelings for Leigh. But it was much too early to say that, much too early to confess that to myself, let alone her. I needed more space, more time for me to say what that word was—I had to verify it first, in other words.

But for now, I wanted to get swept up in the moment. I wanted to fuck her, but with feeling behind it—to show I felt about her in ways beyond just putting my dick into her pussy. There was more to it with Leigh.

I guess you could say it was how my father felt about Hailey and how Spawn felt about Melissa.

I pulled her in for a kiss that started slow. I wanted to feel her wet lips, taste the lipstick she applied, feel her hands running up and down my body. I was in no rush, for I knew what was going to happen, but the fun was in not knowing how it was going to happen—trying something new in the form of slow sex was going to be fun.

“Oh, fuck, Sonny,” she said as I moved my mouth over to her neck, suckling and gently nibbling.

It became too much for her and she pulled away, but that just brought us back to our center, to our spot where we could kiss and feel each other in much more than the physical sense of the word. This was so unlike anything I’d ever done, and it was making me realize something.

I’d been judging my father and Spawn for finding love in the most chaotic time of our club’s history, certainly at least one of the most chaotic times. I’d felt that it was inopportune, at a minimum, to put something so heavy on your plate that could be so distracting. It was a perfectly rational thought.
